What is a Futurity?
A futurity is a monetary prize program for young horses.
Who is eligible to win prizes?
Participants must nominate their foals to be eligible to compete for cash awards beginning in the foal’s weanling year and for every year thereafter through their three-year-old year.
Who is eligible to participate?
The NWSA has both an Open Futurity for all competitors in several horse show divisions, and an Amateur Futurity for amateur competitors showing in-hand. Foals must be nominated to each Futurity individually.
